What will happen at my appointment

How long will my appointment last for?

For a first bridal appointment I usually put aside 1 & 1/2 hours! This is so you can try on as many dresses as you like and really get a feel for styles. I don’t believe brides should be rushed when trying on.

Finding your dress with us on your first visit will be amazing but if you need a little time to think & revisit us then that brilliant too. Subsequent appointments will be shorter.

What do I need to bring for an appointment?

Just you! Well and a bridesmaid or family member or 2. If you wish you may bring some heels & a strapless bra but it isn’t essential for a first appointment.

Just remember this is the fun part so don’t get stressed!

When should I shop

Every bride is individual and this depends on the wedding date.

Most brides like to get the dress sorted out early so that all other aspects of the wedding can be arranged to suit the style of the dress for e.g. Accessories and flowers and bridesmaids.

Shop when you feel comfortable doing so, 6 months to 1 year in advance is a standard guide.

My wedding is very soon?

As long as there is time to alter your dress if required then this is not a problem.

Alterations may require up to 8 weeks depending on your dress.

Losing weight

This is the most asked question by far.

I aim to loose weight. What if I change in size between getting my dress and the wedding?

Don’t worry at all. Most brides change size and weight a little, this is normal. This is where a bridal seamstress comes in.

Alterations are expected on most dresses. No one is a standard dress size so for e.g. nipping in at the waist/bust/hips and taking up the hem.  We We can chat about your expectations/dress size and possible alteration needs.
